Draft consultation | Queensland ICT Workforce Plan 2019-2022

This consultation has now closed and we are reviewing the responses.

The Queensland ICT Workforce Plan is our proposed approach to increase the size and skills of the ICT workforce in Queensland. The plan outlines 5 priority areas over the next 3 years:

Why we need an ICT workforce plan

Queensland is home to 20% of Australia’s population, yet only 13.5% of the national ICT workforce resides in Queensland.

Without an appropriately sized or skilled ICT workforce, Queensland will not be in a position to achieve its Advancing Queensland priorities. Government and industry need to partner together to skill Queenslanders for the current and future labour market.
