About the initiatives | Partnering for Growth and Impact

Our Partnering for Impact and Partnering for Growth initiatives aim to reduce homelessness in Queensland, by:

  • enabling sector-led innovation
  • expanding the sector's capabilities
  • delivering flexible, place-based and person-centred housing responses.

We’re committed to broadening our partnerships with the community housing and homelessness sectors, as highlighted in the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017-2027.

Partnering for Impact

Partnering for Impact outlines our intention to provide specialist homelessness services with five-year service agreements, so they have the certainty and stability they need to deliver services and encourage innovative homelessness responses.

We worked with the homelessness sector to develop the Queensland Homelessness Compact Workplan (PDF, 307KB), which will drive a shared vision and program of work to implement a new partnering approach.

The workplan sets out specific actions under 3 broad work streams:

  • strengthening the service system
  • expanding our capabilities
  • delivering person-centred housing responses.

Partnering for Growth

Partnering for Growth will undertake sector-wide consultation and engagement to:

  • transform the community housing delivery model
  • increase the supply of community and affordable housing.

This program of work has 3 main deliverables:

  • a single community housing program that delivers person-centred, place-based housing responses
  • new investment strategies to help providers grow their community housing and affordable housing portfolio
  • new operating framework for community housing and affordable housing.

What's next?

During 2019, we hosted workshops with representatives from the housing and homelessness sectors across Queensland.
